Sin is deceptive!

Sin is deceptive!

Sin always hides its true work and identity. PLEASE UNDERDSTAND: Sin is a serious issue! I am afraid we have made it a familiar thing! We excuse it around every corner and defend its destructive work. It has become like a “petty pet” that we have come to accept and love and we do not want to part with it completely! WIth some sins we have compromised a great deal! It is like the ……python snake that grow bigger and bigger and feeds on the little frogs and rats, etc, (small entertainments) we give it! But one day, this big lazy reptile will squeeze the life right out of us! And it is real!

Scripture speaks about the “besetting sin,” that besets us so “easily!” That “besetting sin” (the pantheon snake i referred to) find its strength (so to speak) and are fed by those “small sins” or fleshly indulgences (the mice and frogs, etc) and keep its strength over us because of these “innocent” things we so easily excuse or just ignore! If we give any “occasion” or make any “provision” (in whatever form – Rom 13:14) to the flesh, that “besetting sin” will not lose its grip and hold on us and we will be decieved!

It is the “little foxes” that destroys the vineyard. You strive with some sin that does not seem to let you go, you are defeated time and time again and you don’t understand!? Listen beloved, don’t entertain sin even if it seems innocent, don’t give the flesh any inch cause it will make sin the ruler! Begin with the smallest of them all, war against them and put them to death and you will have power to overcome the beseting sin!

“LET NOT SIN REIGN that you should obey its lusts” (Rom 6:12),
“MORTIFY therefore your members which are upon the earth [THAT IS - Put to death, slay with a continued stroke!]” (Col 3:5; Rom 8:13);
“MAKE NO PROVISION for the flesh TO FULFILL its lusts” (Rom 13:14);
“PUT OFF concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts” (Eph 4:22);
“CLEANSE OURSELVES from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness” (2 Cor 7:1);
“LAY ASIDE … the sin which doth so easily beset us” (Hebr 12:1); etc!

There is victory over EVERY sin (Rom 8:2-3; Gal 5:16; etc) THROUGH JESUS CHRIST THE LORD!See MoreTag PhotoDone TaggingAdd LocationEdit
